Pardon my dust! I just migrated my website to the fantastic Eleventy and am recording the redesign process of adopting my design system for our AI & Design Systems course.

What song would you say was your introduction to hip hop?

I’ve lived my entire life 2 hours away from Cuyahoga National Park, and have never been. Excited to head there this weekend! Lemme know if you have any recommendations.

Just another day in ol' Brad Frost's inbox.

![Hey Brad, I've tried to be in touch a couple of times but haven't received an answer...this is my 3rd email... No worries, it's cool- I'm not the most extroverted person to begin with. So I thought you might be more willing to talk to Oscar. Brad, this is Oscar. Oscar, this is Brad Picture of smiling golden retriever image] He's not that great at talking to humans yet, but the usual "Bark" most often means yes especially when it's about food. Anyway let me know what you two talked about and circle back to me, will you?

Few tales are as dangerous as the Tale of the Self-Made Man.

This slipped under my radar, but my pal reminded me that yesterday was the 2-year anniversary of Frostapalooza! https://frostapalooza.bradfrost.com/

It will forever be one of the best moments of my life.

Fantastic day for GitHub to be acting up!

My daughter's best friend is moving back to France. While they're both sad, they're also excitedly establishing a multimedia communication strategy, navigating timezones, and researching games they can play together. They won't miss a beat.

It's truly amazing how small our world has become.

Looking for recommendations for some sort of fatigue mat for my adjustable standing desk. Anyone have anything they really like? I'm seeing all sorts of goofy shit, and I'm open to it all if it actually works!

THE DAY HAS ARRIVED! I'm recording the live rebuild of my website as part of our AI & Design Systems course (https://aianddesign.systems/). I'm showing how to get AI to only use our design system infrastructure to help build the website, and create a genuine connection between system & product.

Back from a much-needed vacation. A+++++ highly recommend taking some time off.

I’m obsessed with this store.

A store that has a sign that simply says “COMPUTERS” with microchip design

All I want for my birthday is for you to send me something that’s made you laugh.

Sorry MUSE for ruining your song. https://youtube.com/shorts/bEwyYhjidE8?is=wZkYF9r_2MztU9n7

I have all Led Zeppelin albums permanently seared into my brain/soul, but I’ve noticed the album I most actively still listen to is Physical Graffiti.

I'm tired of saying I'm busy (it's unhealthy, not a badge of honor), but it continues to be the truth. I just shared a big ol' update on everything I've been up to: https://bradfrost.com/blog/post/coming-up-for-air/

Tons of exciting stuff! But it's taken a lot of work to get there.

After watching many musicians remix videos, I finally made one off of a super fun guitar loop. Wait for it! https://youtube.com/shorts/56gsPxsxthw?is=C3WtkAB3VsS9A8bc

In case anyone needs to play with a bunch of drum machines and sequencers today: https://roland50.studio/

We had a music session in our basement on Saturday, and improvised a whole bunch of stuff: Fly Like An Eagle, an old Fleetwood Mac Song, Amazing Grace (to House of the Rising Sun), Khruangbin, and some other fun jams.

Hope life is good to you this weekend! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gd4hTpXQMsk

What presentation/talk have you delivered that you're most proud of?

Just watched a hawk swoop down and snag a bird from the bird feeder.

I needed the reminder that my day could be going a lot worse.

What helpful design systems resources should more people know about? And I mean "resources" in the broadest sense possible: people, communities, articles, podcasts, newsletters, books, conferences, websites, etc.

My wife and 8-year-old joined me for a bit of a family synth jam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI2ETylgSAc

Hard week with lots of work to do. But making the executive decision to get ice cream on my daughter's last day of school instead.

After all these years, I still reference this wonderful post by Trent Walton: https://trentwalton.com/2012/06/19/fluid-type/

I'm always fascinated by the likely fact that every invented object we encounter is the result of a stew of ideas, meetings, decisions, plans, and actions.

This is cool: CSS contrast-color is now part of the browser baseline and helps enforce color accessibility! https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Reference/Values/color_value/contrast-color

Has anyone used this in conjunction with their design token systems?

What's one of your evergreen favorite tools/utility websites?

I have many, but today I'll share the excellent CSS Stats: https://cssstats.com/

Content Brain test.

Really enjoyed my conversation with Scott Jenson today.

Big takeaway for me: with AI moving fast, we have to stay super intentional about creating human-centered spaces in the tools and workflows we build. Otherwise it’s way too easy to optimize for speed and novelty and accidentally make things feel colder, noisier, and more overwhelming.

I’m going to eat some cheese now.
