When I graduated college and started my first full-time job in NYC, I was all in. It’s a pretty common occurrence, especially in smaller companies: a junior dev thrown into the deep end, they flounder a bit, they learn a lot, and they use their youthful energy to code and work all over the place.
Well hey! That sums out my NYC experience in a nutshell. I burnt out several times while living in New York, including thinking I was having a heart attack in the back of a taxi as they raced me to the doctor’s office.
I’m still dealing with burnout to some degree, and Cassie’s advice in this article is really great.
